The Blue Hole in Dahab is one of the most iconic and talked-about dive sites in the world. Famous for its vertical drop into the deep blue abyss, this natural sinkhole offers a dramatic and unforgettable underwater landscape. The site's reputation makes it a bucket-list destination for recreational and technical divers alike.
Most dives begin at the saddle around 6 meters, then continue along the outer reef wall toward the stunning El Bells or the Blue Hole arch (accessible only to experienced technical divers). The reef walls are teeming with vibrant corals, anthias, triggerfish, unicornfish, and the occasional Napoleon wrasse or barracuda.
Visibility is typically excellent, ranging between 25 - 30 meters. Due to the depth and structure of the site, this dive is best for Advanced Open Water certified divers and above. Divers are advised to descend along the wall, stay within recreational limits, and always dive with a local professional familiar with the area.
While the site is stunning, it demands respect and awareness. With the right training and conditions, diving the Blue Hole in Dahab is an awe-inspiring, serene, and exhilarating experience.
